- if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (Certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease) or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug
- If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product

- Cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus)
- Cough that lasts or is chronic such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema

Possible Side Effects
- Drowsiness - While advertised as non-drowsy, the dextromethorphan can still cause drowsiness in some individuals. Use caution when driving or operating machinery.
- Dizziness - The medication can cause occasional dizziness, lightheadedness or impaired coordination. Rise slowly from a sitting or lying position.
- Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset - Upset stomach, nausea or vomiting may occur, especially if exceeding recommended dosages. Take with food to minimize effects.
- Dry mouth - The dextromethorphan can reduce saliva production causing temporary dry mouth or throat. Drink plenty of water while medicated.
- Urinary retention - Difficulty urinating or incomplete emptying of the bladder may occur. This side effect is more common in men with enlarged prostate.
- Headache - Some individuals may experience headache with use of the cough syrup. Discontinue use if severe headaches occur.
- Allergic reaction - Seek medical help if symptoms of an allergic reaction occur, such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness or trouble breathing.
To reduce risk of side effects, carefully follow dosage instructions provided. Discontinue use if adverse reactions develop. Consult a doctor if side effects persist or if you have any pre-existing medical conditions.
