Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is it OK to take this dual-action laxative daily?
Generally, no. This product is intended for the short-term relief of occasional constipation. Prolonged use of stimulant laxatives (like Sennosides) can lead to dependence, where your bowel relies on the medication to function. If you're experiencing chronic constipation, it's best to consult a healthcare professional.
How long does it take to work?
It typically produces a bowel movement within 6 to 12 hours after ingestion. It's often recommended to take your dose in the evening so it can work overnight.
Is this the same as Dulcolax?
No. While both treat constipation, they use different active ingredients. Dulcolax contains bisacodyl (a stimulant laxative alone), whereas this product combines a stimulant laxative (sennosides) with a stool softener (docusate sodium) for a dual-action approach.
What are the side effects?
Some individuals may experience mild stomach discomfort, cramping, or diarrhea. Prolonged use can lead to electrolyte imbalances. If you experience severe or persistent side effects, discontinue use and seek medical attention.
Can it cause acid reflux?
While it's generally well-tolerated, there have been rare reports of individuals experiencing acid reflux or heartburn. If you experience concerning symptoms, it's recommended to consult your healthcare provider.
