Uses
- Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive.
Warnings
- Ask a doctor before use if you have: persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema; or a cough accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus).
- Stop use and ask a doctor if: cough lasts for more than 7 days, recurs, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headache. These could be signs of a serious condition.
- If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a healthcare professional before use.
- Keep out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
Directions
- Adults & Children 12+ years: 2–4 teaspoonfuls (10-20 mL) every 4 hours.
- Children 6 to under 12: 1–2 teaspoonfuls (5-10 mL) every 4 hours.
- Children 2 to under 6: ½–1 teaspoonful (2.5-5 mL) every 4 hours.
- Children under 2: Consult a doctor.
- Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours.
