Drug Facts
Active Ingredient (in each tablet): Guaifenesin 200 mg (Expectorant)
Uses: Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive and clear bronchial passageways.
Directions
- Adults and Children 12 years and older: Take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 hours with a full glass of water. Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours.
- Children 6 to 12 years of age: Take 1/2 to 1 tablet every 4 hours with a full glass of water. Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours.
- Children under 6 years of age: Do not use.
Warnings
- Ask a doctor before use if you have: a persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema, or if your cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus).
- Stop use and ask a doctor if: your cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or a persistent headache, as these could be signs of a serious condition.
- If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.
- Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
