- Regarding Model Numbers (7097C / 7098C): If you previously used the orange or purple boxes with model numbers 7097C or 7098C, this 7080G box is the official manufacturer replacement. The strips are exactly the same and will function perfectly with your existing original Contour meter.

Are Contour test strips discontinued?
No, the original Contour test strips are not discontinued. However, the old packaging (models 7097C and 7098C) was replaced by Ascensia (formerly Bayer) with the new model 7080G. The strips inside remain exactly the same.
Can I use these strips with my Contour Next meter?
No. Original Contour test strips will not work in Contour Next meters. You must use Contour Next test strips for Contour Next meters.
What is Second-Chance sampling?
If your initial blood drop isn't large enough to get a reading, Second-Chance sampling allows you to apply more blood to the exact same test strip within a short timeframe, saving you from having to throw the strip away and prick your finger again.
