Intended Use
The CONTOUR PLUS BLUE blood glucose monitoring system is intended for self-testing outside the body (in vitro diagnostic use) by people with diabetes at home as an aid in monitoring the effectiveness of a diabetes control program.
- Single Patient Use Only: For use by a single person; should not be shared.
- Test Site: For use with fresh capillary whole blood drawn from the fingertips.
- Not for: Diagnosis of diabetes, screening, neonatal use, or Alternative Site Testing (AST).
Test Procedure Summary
See your meter user guide for full details. The general procedure involves:
- Preparation: Wash and dry hands well before handling strips.
- Application: The blood sample is drawn into the tip of the test strip through capillary action.
- Result: No calculation is required; the result is displayed on the meter.
Storage & Handling
- Temperature: Store strips between 41°F–86°F (5°C–30°C).
- Container: Store in the original bottle only. Always close the lid immediately and tightly after removing a strip.
- Handling: Do not use if the cap is not closed or if the bottle is damaged.
- Expiration: Strips can be used until the expiration date printed on the bottle or carton.
